Have you ever waited for something, and felt like it is never going to get here? The days, months, or sometimes just the hours, creep slowly on and you feel as though you are not going to make it to whatever it is you are waiting for? That is me right now.
I have been in a season of waiting, and just as it was starting to really wear on me, I remembered a Bible verse that spoke of waiting. Well to be honest I couldn’t remember it, I just remembered that I had read it during a SheReadsTruth study, and had felt called to write it down in a card to my sister-in-law. So after backtracking through SRT and my Bible, I found what I was looking for.
“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you…” – 2 Peter 3:8-9
It was the reminder that I needed. The reminder that my timing is not God’s timing, and my concept of time is not his. To me a few months or years feels like forever, but to him it is just a breath. While I still don’t like waiting, I am trying to be be more patient and to truly trust that God has a plan for me and in his timing it will happen.
