For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God — not by works, so that no one can boast. – Ephesians 2:8-9
Those two verses say so much in very few words. They contain the promise of God’s grace. The promise that we do not earn that grace by doing good works. We earned that grace through Christ’s death on the cross, and our works do not change that.
To me, this is such an amazing promise, one that I am incredibly thankful for. It has such hope and love, and at the heart of it there is so much peace. Peace knowing that I do not have to check boxes or follow the right steps in order in order to have His Grace, my faith is enough.
My faith is enough. And that is a wonderful thing.
