I learned to play violin in elementary school, and I wish that I still played. Looking back on it, I really wish that I had paid more attention and practiced more, because by the time I realized how to do it right was right about when I left college and could no longer have free lessons.
One of my financial goals for myself is to be able to take violin lessons again at some point. I loved my time in orchestra, and I loved learning how to play great musical works such as Beethoven’s Sixth Symphony and Aaron Copland’s Hoe-down (also know as the Beef It’s What’s for Dinner song). But I think the favourite piece I’ve worked on is one that I am still struggling to learn, Beethoven’s Romance No 2 in F. It was the last piece I was working on while I was still in school, and since graduation I have only taken my violin out a few times, but each time I do I wish I was sitting back in orchestra.
Here’s another really great piece we performed in high school, it was so much fun!! A Scottish Bouquet! (I played in the orchestra on this one… not the solo part… I’m not that good haha.)
Are there instruments you play or used to play?
