“This is the Bible”, that’s SheReadsTruth‘s current plan. It seems pretty straight forward, a little 101 on Scripture, lots of God’s love and a great community of women. But this plan has knocked me onto my butt.
I am a beginner when it comes to my relationship with my Bible. (Well, and with God too but that’s a different story…) I only started reading the Bible regularly about two years ago, and I get distracted easily so my daily reads sometimes all come rushing up at once… a few weeks later. But I LOVE the feeling that I get when God’s Word strikes my heart and opens my eyes, and this has happened a few times in the past few days.
The first verse that struck was Psalm 119:5, “Oh, that my ways were steadfast in obeying your decrees!” (NIV) Oh man! I feel as though I pray this daily. That day’s reading was filled with love, but my mind stuck on that verse like a cry in the dark. Help me to be steadfast! Another daily prayer, Psalm 119:134, “Direct my footsteps according to your word; let no sin rule over me.” (NIV) Every prayer. Lord, guide my head, my feet and my heart so that my words and actions may bring glory to you. I love it when God shows me that I am the right path.
