First, I apologize for the delay in writing this post. I’ve had good news, and haven’t shared it. 🙁
So! I got that job application I wrote about in February, and I filled it out. Took about a month to get everything in order, since I had to wait for my marriage to get put on my official record, but then it was out of my hands. Heard back from them after about two weeks, and got invited for an initial interview/screening!!!!!!! Unfortunately my promotion testing date (3 May) conflicts with that interview, but I had already gotten my (and Dan’s) test date changed because originally they conflicted with our honeymoon. I had warned the DC people that this could happen, so they were very nice and let me change my interview date. So I have an interview for a new job at the end of May!!!!!! I’m so excited!!!!! But also, very nervous.
I have no idea what to expect, like what sorts of questions they’ll ask. How many psych tests I have to sit through? What questions will they ask on the polygraph? Will they want me? I mean I’m only a SrA, and they’re looking for someone with great experience…. I don’t know.
On the downside, if I get this job it means I move to D.C. And Dan stays here. 🙁 If he gets officer school, he’ll go there, and do his thing. And we’re guaranteed to be stationed apart for the next 4 years, though it will be for good reasons. But if he doesn’t get OTS, he can try and apply for a base nearer to D.C., and then we’ll have a chance to be together. Right now there are too many variables to know what’s going to happen, so we’ll have to wait and see how it all plays out.
